The main objective of the project "Care for the elderly in the European Union" is to make a forum for the experts of various member states of the EU who deal with elder care to exchange experiences, to present their activities as well as to reveal the possibilities of a future co-operation. The elder care concerns a stratum of the society that represents the past but furnishes and has to furnish a basis for the present and the future. It is a task of the society to support the elderly and to make their everyday life liveable. We have to find a healthy balance between the idea of a solidarity based society and the EU as the most competitive knowledge based economy in the world. To achieve it the project “Care for the elderly in the European Union” wishes to lend a helping hand for all who are affected by this issue.
